Using LIGR Graphics with vision mixers: OBS, vMix and Wirecast

Overlay LIGR.Live in OBS, vMix and WirecastIn this blog post, we’ll show you how to integrate with three of the most popular production tools: OBS, vMix & Wirecast.

With LIGR, no matter what level you’re producing at, adding TV-quality live sports graphics, live data, and advertising to your livestreams couldn't be easier. It’s a fantastic way to enhance and upscale production values and improve viewer experience.

LIGR’s versatile and flexible platform can integrate with a number of different workflows and production tools (you can find a full list here). In this blog post, we’ll show you how to integrate with three of the most popular production tools: OBS, vMix & Wirecast.

Create an Overlay Link in LIGR.Live

When you create a match in LIGR, an overlay link is automatically generated. You can copy and paste this link directly into your production software, making integration extremely quick and painless. To copy the overlay link, log in to LIGR.Live and go to the “MATCHES” tab on the left-hand menu (the calendar icon). Press the three dots to the right of the match and select “Get overlay link.”

Hit the button that says “COPY PRODUCTION LINK,” then paste the link into your production software. Be mindful that you can only use the Production Link once, so if you want to monitor your graphics before transmission, hit the “COPY MONITORING LINK” button and paste it into a web browser.

Integrating LIGR with OBS

Open OBS and press the “+” button on the sources dock to add a source. From the list, select “Browser.” Enter a name for your production in the text box.

Now, paste the Production Link that you copied from your LIGR dashboard into the box labeled “URL.” Set the desired “Width” and “Height” for your production. Hit “OK,” and if you have a graphic On air,” then your graphics will appear in your OBS production.

Integrating LIGR with vMix

Open vMix, click the “Add Input” button in the bottom left of the interface, select “Web Browser.” Now, paste the Production Link that you copied from your LIGR dashboard into the box labeled “URL.” Set the desired “Width” and “Height” for your production. Hit “OK,” and if you have a template “On air,” then your graphics will be available as a source in your production.

Assign source to a layer in vMix

Once the graphics are in your production, you can easily overlay them on the match footage by clicking the relevant overlay (1-4 available) in vMix that you wish to use. The graphics will now be in your program window on the vMix output screen.

Integrating LIGR with Wirecast

Load up Wirecast and hit the “+” sign next to the top layer. Select “Network,” and then under “Web Page,” select “New Web Page.”

Now, paste the Production Link that you copied from your LIGR dashboard into the box labeled “URL.” Set the desired “Width” and “Height” for your production and ensure that you have ticked “Transparent Background.”
